The Toyota Soarer made its debut in 1981 and enjoyed great popularity due to its elegant style and luxurious equipment. The highest version of the second-generation Soarer, which underwent a complete model change in January 1986, is the 3.0GT Limited. The bodywork carried over from the first generation had further refined aerodynamic characteristics and was fitted with the 7M-GTEU engine, a twin-cam, 24-valve, in-line six-cylinder turbo that produced 230bhp, the most powerful domestically produced engine at the time.
