Nusfjord is a tranquil fishing village on the Lofoten Islands, a chain of islands in northern Norway. Just 50 years ago, the village was bustling with activity when the cod came to spawn. Today, the village has fewer than 100 inhabitants and is now a museum village. If you realise that you have to pay an entrance fee just to see the houses, you can imagine how picturesque and beautiful it is here. Cruise ships sail along the coasts of the elongated, now largely deserted island world. In the time in which this game is set, things were different. Sailing ships dominated the fjord. The rocks around Nusfjord were still covered in trees. The wood was gone, but the beauty of the landscape remained. We hope to capture it with this game.

This new edition of one of Uwe Rosenberg's most popular games comes with a Nusfjord Big Box packed to the brim. In addition to the basic game, four expansion decks provide even more fun: the Plaice deck (2018) and the Salmon deck (2020) are joined by two completely new developments, the Trout deck and the Besøkende deck (the latter complete with visitor meeples).
The visitors in the Besøkende deck introduce a new game mechanic. Beyond that, the mechanics remain the same: you clear land, use timber to construct buildings and increase your fishing fleet to score plenty of victory points at the end. You also benefit from the knowledge of the elders.
