Product Description

The USS TANG is an American Balao class submarine from the Second World War. The ship's armament included 24 torpedoes, an anti-aircraft gun and two machine guns. The maximum tested immersion depth was 180 metres. It was launched on 17 August 1943. On 24 October 1944, it was sunk during its fifth patrol. The unit's sole commander was Richard O'Kane, who along with eight sailors survived the shipwreck and remained in Japanese captivity until the end of the war. Statistics show that the USS TANG was the most successful submarine in the Pacific. 24 to 31 enemy ships were sunk by it.

The model of the famous submarine was completely designed with Polish COBI building blocks in the sensational model scale 1:144! The set consists of 777 elements and includes an accessory in the form of a removable hull side panel under which there is an imitation engine. The perfectly reproduced USS TANG model measures a full 66 cm in length. All graphic elements are durable prints that will not wear out even with intensive use. Accessories such as the US flag, movable artillery tubes and turbines add to the model's appeal.
The USS TANG can be beautifully displayed on the aesthetically pleasing block base included with the set, which includes a sign with the ship's name.

The ship is an ideal gift for anyone, regardless of age, for history, military and naval enthusiasts. It will look great on a desk, bookshelf or shelf of gadgets. Build a story with COBI, block by block!
