The floor model is a replica of the SOMUA S35, which represents a French cavalry tank of the Second World War. The French tank was produced between 1936 and 1940. For the period in which it operated, it was a relatively agile medium tank, superior in armour and armament to both its French and foreign contemporary versions of the German Panzerkampfwagen III. Although the SOMUA S35 was not able to show its full effect during the Battle of France, the tank made a strong appearance with battles fought by German forces.
