The stand model is a replica of the French B1 tank, which stood in the way of German armies aiming to destroy France on its own soil in May 1940. The B1 was introduced as an improved version of the original Char B1, which was developed in the 1920s.
The improved B1 went into production in 1937 and was riveted to the hull and fitted with a 75mm howitzer. The B1 was one of the most heavily armoured tanks of its time and was fitted with 60 mm thick armour in places.
