This old combination game comes from China. It consists of 13 different pieces, which in turn are made up of a maximum of 5 identical sub-units. The aim of this game is to create a square with the 13 pieces and to find as many different solutions as possible. Furthermore, you can also lay two- and three-dimensional figures with 12 shaped parts (without the square part). In the suggestions for laying the pieces, only a few examples of the many different ways of playing are given. With a lot of patience and thought, you can also create your own pictures and figures. The Chinese claim that there are so many ways to arrange the 13 pieces in a square that you would never find all the variations in a lifetime. Hence the name “Game of Life”.
