Southern Nildealta, approx. 3,000 BC – Men-Nefer(Greek: Memphis) is on its way to becoming the most populous city in the world and a religious centre even then. In the expert game of the same name, players take on tasks that were typical of Egyptian culture at the time: They gain knowledge in the Houses of Life so that they can navigate boats across the Nile to trade, make offerings in the Great Temple of Ptah, embalm the bodies of the deceased to prepare them for their passage to the afterlife, and bury them in the necropolis to erect marvellous sphinxes and make their contribution to the construction of the pyramids. In addition, they must always pay attention to how they organise their earthly existence, as access to the heavenly paradise in the afterlife is only granted to those whose heart is lighter than a feather.

Men-Neferistis a tightly-knit optimisation game with numerous opportunities to collect prestige points. However, it also relies on interaction between players, because where there are already others, visiting the Houses of Life becomes expensive. Only those who find the right balance – between heart and pen as well as between income and expenditure – will win the game.
