The Sd.Kfz.251 armoured personnel carrier was a half-track vehicle used extensively by the Wehrmacht during World War II. Thanks to its powerful Maybach six-cylinder engine, the tank was capable of reaching a speed of 55 km/h even on difficult terrain. It was mainly used as an infantry fighting vehicle; however, numerous versions were produced during the war to meet increasingly specific operational requirements. On the Sd.Kfz.251 the rocket launcher version Wurfrahmen was implemented. It was equipped with 6 packing cases, 3 on each side, designed to fire rockets of various sizes and was nicknamed the “Stuka on foot”. Although it was not accurate, it could have an important psychological effect on enemy troops and proved to be a valuable support for ground troops, especially in urban combat.
