The floor model is a replica of the Sd.Kfz. 265 small armoured command vehicle. The Sd.Kfz 265 armoured command vehicle was developed to meet the needs of the Wehrmacht Panzer Division commanders as well as to follow the tanks as closely as possible and better coordinate them on the battlefield. To increase the space for the unit commander and his staff, the traditional rotating turret with the main armament was removed and a tall fixed superstructure was installed. An additional radio antenna could be used on the hull to increase the range of radio communications. Produced during the second half of the 1930s, the tank command vehicle was used in combat in September 1939 during the Polish invasion.
