The stand model is a replica of the B-52G Stratofortress. The B-52 Stratofortress is the best-known strategic long-range bomber in the history of aviation. It has been manufactured by the American company Boeing since 1955 and has long been a symbol of the Cold War. It has been the backbone of the US Air Force’s Strategic Air Command for several years. The B-52 has been produced in a considerable number of versions that have gradually evolved the successful project to better respond to changing operational requirements. It was characterised by a variety of changes that were implemented as a stronger structure, the introduction of new avionics systems and, an important issue for a strategic bomber, increased range thanks to increased fuel capacity and the ability to introduce external fuel tanks. The B-52G also took part in Operation Desert Storm in 1991.
