The F-4F Phantom II is a supersonic multi-role fighter aircraft that has been used by the German Air Force since the 1970s. The modernised version of the Phantom II was adapted to the requirements of the Bundeswehr and served in both defence and interception missions. Thanks to its speed of over Mach 2 and a wide range of weapons, it has become one of the symbols of NATO air power.
