510003671 - 1:24 Audi Quattro
In 1980, the German car manufacturer from Ingolstadt presented its new two-door coupé, the Audi Quattro, at the Geneva Motor Show. The Italian name of the vehicle produced in the 1980s refers to its main feature: all-wheel drive. At the time, all-wheel drive was indeed an important innovation for a vehicle that was expected to achieve high sales figures. The "Quattro" guaranteed good driving performance and excellent road-holding on all surfaces. The longitudinally mounted front engine was capable of delivering considerable power. A competition version was also developed, which made its debut in the 1981 World Rally Championship and achieved good results. The success of the "Quattro" continues to this day, so much so that the Italian name has become a genuine "brand" that characterises the entire current range of Audi all-wheel drive vehicles.
