Model Set Vought F4U-1A CORSA
The Vought Corsair was one of the most unusual but also one of the most successful Navy aircraft of the Second World War. Feared by the Japanese enemy, who nicknamed it the Whispering Death, it fought its way through the Pacific skies from 1943 to 1945, achieving record-breaking successes: 2140 enemy aircraft were destroyed with 189 of its own losses. The Corsair's concentrated firepower consisted of six 12.7 mm Browning MGs. Its characteristically angled wings made it highly recognisable to the ground troops, who called it the Sweetheart of Okinawa.
