The continent of Aventuria has produced a colourful and almost unmanageable variety of large and small creatures that populate the forests, deserts and mountains. And likewise, countless creatures live in Efferd's oceans, some of them so strange and rare that hardly a human eye has ever caught sight of them. But not all creatures are peaceful or even useful. Some monsters lurk in dark caves or dense jungles.

Four Aventurian luminaries of animal lore have joined forces to compile a handbook of all kinds of monsters and beasts: the Almanac of Monsters! In this handy little book in B5 format, the Horasian dottora Feodora Pamina di Castellani, the Andergast battlemage Lioba Jarwen von Wolfenstein, Professor Orelio Santuez from Al'Anfa and Uhyrlix son of Rombosch from a traditional family of naturalists present their 160-page work in the unifying spirit of science.
