AMI02351 - The Academy, card game, for 3-4 players, from 10 years (DE edition)

The Academy is no ordinary place. Here you have to prove yourself in mysterious disciplines, first and foremost: role reversal!
In each round of The Academy, the players take on a different role. As captain, you set the tone and hope for active support from team players. Meanwhile, Mastermind sets his own rules. And Rebel has nothing to do with any of this, but pursues its own goals.

Winning tricks, fulfilling round goals and thereby collecting awards - in the end, the winner is the one who has three awards and "the ace up his sleeve". A varied and unusual trick-taking game that requires flexible action.

How to play The Academy MBE3:
- Deal out the role cards to each other in the order Captain, Mastermind, Teamplayer and Rebel.
- Captain takes the trick cards and deals out to all 8 hand cards.
- Mastermind gets 4 additional cards. From these 4 cards, first Mastermind and then Teamplayer choose 2 cards with which they determine the trump suit and the round rule for this round.
- Now you play the 8 tricks of this round.
- The aim is to fulfil the respective round goal of your role: Captain and Team Player together want to win more tricks than Mastermind, while Mastermind wants to win at least as many tricks as Captain and Team Player together. As a Rebel, your goal is to have cards of at least three different colours in your winning tricks.
- Whoever fulfils the round goal of their own role gets an award.
- Then pass your role to the person to your left and play the next round.
- If you have 3 awards at the end of a round and "the ace up your sleeve" (the purple 7) is in your winning tricks, you win the game.
