For over twenty years, magic has not played a major role in Adventure 1880, limited to brief appearances in adventures and a brief section in the Book of Rules - no more!
This book gives a comprehensive introduction to our interpretation of late nineteenth century magic. We learn what magic is and how it is cast, what effects it has, and what supernatural creatures exist in the world.
Eleven new adventurer types, 157 spells, 128 magic books and 85 types of wondrous creatures bring the magic of ADVENTURE 1880 to life. The usual atmospheric texts from novels and contemporary sources as well as over 350 pictures and illustrations help to achieve this. All this results in one of the most comprehensive depictions of magic ever seen in a role-playing game - including a glossary and several indices.
There is also an enclosed four-colour data sheet for magic-using adventures with four pages. Each volume of the limited edition of 300 copies is numbered.
The book also comes with various extras: a poster version of "Cleopatra's Calendar" for the year 1882; three thin cardboard bookmarks printed in colour on both sides (250 grams) with game motifs and information; a beer mat with the symbol of a magical brewery introduced in the volume; and a game aid with a spellbook that can be used in the game.
