Product Description

They are small, cunning and thieving - that's what they often say about the rattlings on Lorakis.
But do such preconceptions really describe this widespread people? From the deep green of the Wandering Woods to the deserts of Surmakar, Rattlings live in diverse communities all over the world.
Small they may be, but size does not stop them from producing valiant warriors and noble warriors.
Free Rattling tribes populate mountains, caves, even entire cities - and follow their own traditions and cultures.
More integrated Rattlings live in the metropolises, such as Palitan in the Zhoujiang Empire, where they form permanent enclaves and important parts of society. Others are driven into the shadows of civilisation: into the hills behind the fields, into deserted villages or dark forests.
Even if many Rattlings have found their place among the other peoples, it is often in dark and remote places, shaped by prejudice and harassment.
And it is precisely this outsider position, for example in Selenia or Patalis, that drives many Rattlings to fulfil the prejudices attributed to them and take whatever they can get their hands on from the fringes of society.
And yet there are high priests of the Rattling people, respected battle champions and craftsmen. Despite all the prejudices, some Rattlings become important counsellors or powerful rulers because of their knowledge.
They all have one thing in common: the urge to stand up to the outside world - preferably in a close bond with family, clan or kin. Or in alliance with new friends that a Rattling finds in search of adventure.

Rattlings is a sourcebook and expansion for the Splittermond role-playing game that offers a deep insight into this often misunderstood race.
