Product Description
Onager is a type of catapult with ancient origins. It was also widely used in the Middle Ages. The Romans used to call this machine a tormentum or scorpion. Standing on two runners, the catapult used a long arm with a "spoon" to hurl stone projectiles, flaming charges and other objects intended to frighten the enemy (snakes, rubbish, severed heads, etc.). In the block model, we used a rubber band instead of tangled ropes to stretch the arm! Thanks to this solution, you can quickly and safely launch your own siege and throw block projectiles!
The set includes a Roman legionary equipped with a helmet (galea), armour (lorica segmentata), shield (scutum) and spear (pilum). A special block that extends the tunic contains imprints of hanging belts (baltea). You can place the catapult on the block base included in the set to imitate a fragment of terrain.
We assure you that the catapult is fun thanks to the clever mechanism!
Do you lack the staff to operate your onager? Would you like to build a scene or a diorama? Do you dream of a larger battlefield? Nothing could be easier! In the Imperium Romanum collection you'll find figures of Roman legionaries just waiting to be recruited into your victorious army! Build history, brick by brick!
