The Black Cat: Fasar - Fragile Peace, book 192 pages (DE edition)

When the towers of the Exalted cast long shadows over Fasar in the moonlight, the city awakens to nocturnal life. During the day, merchants, swindlers and thugs may rule the streets, but at night, smugglers, thieves and hired assassins prowl the alleys. This has been the tradition in Fasar for centuries. But in recent years, something new, something unknown, seems to have become part of the nightly game: shadowy figures with flashing blades, smaller than the usual assassins and barely audible, are said to scurry from roof to roof. Sometimes you think you hear pattering footsteps, rarely an angry hiss or growl. But every Fasar with an ounce of sense knows: whatever happens at night is none of one's business. He who hears nothing and sees nothing knows nothing; and he who knows nothing runs no risk of being silenced by poison, knife or tragic accident. So one ignores the nocturnal goings-on, for that too is tradition - for centuries.

Fasar - Fragile Peace takes the player into a quarrelling city where dogs and cats fight for supremacy. While the cats in the north and the dogs in the south cling irrevocably to their strife, a melting pot of cultures has developed in the intermediate city on the south bank of the Gadang thanks to the enterprising Fenneks. Even the Mungos, known as fierce hunters and fighters, have come to terms with the different factions. In addition to a detailed description of Fasar through the eyes of Awakened, this volume offers species, cultures, professions and advantages and disadvantages typical of Fasar, additional ancestral children for dogs and Fenneks with new gifts and presents, background and rules for the art of bladesmithing and scent alchemy, and a number of other atmospheric and useful additions to the fantastic world of The Black Cat.
