After encountering a massive dose of gamma radiation, an unknown mutation saved Blonsky from certain death, but transformed him into Abomination - a grotesque and massive creature of immense strength and resilience to rival even the Hulk.
Dirk Garthwaite was known as the Wrecker before he was defeated by Thor and his power was channelled into a crowbar. In prison, he met Dr Eliot Franklin, Henry Camp and Brian Calusky. Together they devised an escape plan. During a thunderstorm, they held the crowbar in their hands together until lightning struck and released the power it contained. This was distributed to them, restoring the Wrecker and creating Thunderball, Bulldozer and Piledriver. They are now known as the Wrecking Crew - a team of supervillains capable of great destruction and mayhem.
