Product Description

The Tiger II, also known as the King Tiger, was a German heavy tank used in the Second World War. For the first time in the COBI range, the largest Tiger was designed on a scale of 1:35 and given a colourful camouflage that is characteristic of the final phase of the war. The model features movable wheels, working chain traction, a rotating turret with movable cannon, a hatch in which you can place a figure, a removable engine and many other details!

PANZERKAMPFWAGEN VI Ausf. B "KÖNIGSTIGER" were put into service in 1944 and were one of the most powerful tanks of their time. The Tiger II combined thick armour, which reached up to 180 mm at the front of the hull, with a powerful 88 mm KwK 43 L/71 gun, making it a formidable opponent on the battlefield. Its weight was around 70 tonnes. The Maybach HL230 P30 engine with an output of 700 hp enabled speeds of up to 38 km/h on the road. Despite its impressive combat performance, the Tiger II had numerous technical problems, including frequent engine and chassis failures. The complex design and enormous use of resources made production expensive and time-consuming. A total of around 492 units were produced. The Tiger II took part in many important battles, including the Battle of the Bulge and the fighting on the Eastern Front. Its presence on the battlefield had great psychological significance, but in practice it was often limited by logistical and technical problems. Despite its shortcomings, the Tiger II remains one of the most famous and recognisable tanks of the Second World War.
