COBI-2719 - 258 PCS 'HC WWII /2719/ RENAULT R-35
The Renault R-35 is a popular French light infantry tank (Charlégere model 1935R) from the early days of the Second World War. The R-35 was the successor to the old Renault FT-17 tank from the First World War. The advantages of the tank were its modern design and the good armouring at the time. The disadvantages were certainly the underpowered engine and the one-person turret, which forced the vehicle commander to fulfil tasks that were intended for several crew members in other vehicles. The 37 mm gun from the First World War was no longer particularly effective.
Poland bought 100 Renault R-35 tanks from France. The first batch of around 50 tanks arrived in July 1939. They were deployed in September 1939. In view of the defeat, some of the machines were sent to Romania and Hungary. The transport of another 50 pieces did not manage to reach Poland.
The model, reproduced on a scale of 1:48, can be built from 258 bricks. Movable chain traction, rotating turret, imprints, double Polish and French emblems and the environmental elements included in the set (a fence fragment, a tree, vegetation) make it an ideal set for both play and display. A clear and intuitive manual guides the builder easily through the subsequent stages of assembling the vehicle. High quality, durable prints enhance the aesthetics of the model. Build the story brick by brick.
