Puzzle motif "Hokusai - The Great Wave", 1,000 pieces
"The Great Wave off Kanagawa" (jap. 神奈川沖浪裏 Kanagawa oki nami ura), actually "Under the Wave in the Sea off Kanagawa", is the title of a colour woodblock print in ukiyo-e style by the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai.
The print is the first and most famous of Hokusai's series of pictures "36 Views of Mount Fuji" from 1830 to 1836, in which he depicted the landscapes around Mount Fuji in a total of 46 pictures. Hokusai, who lived to be just under ninety years old, produced this woodblock print when he was about seventy. The print is the most famous Japanese print and is one of the most famous graphic works in the world.
