"The mysterious hut in the mountains" is aimed at fans of mystery, puzzle and escape games. The game is played in a team of 3 to 7 people, one of whom takes on the role of game master. The game master narrates the crime story and guides the other players step by step through the adventure and the puzzles using the game master booklet. They know the solution to the current mystery and can decide whether to give the players hints or not. It is even possible to change the game master from puzzle to puzzle so that everyone has the opportunity to solve puzzles during the course of the game.
Many of the puzzles are designed in such a way that the information is evenly distributed among the players. The co-operation of all players is essential to solve these puzzles. The game ends when the players have reached the exit of the mountain hut. The time elapsed up to that point and any penalty minutes result in the final score.
