107027 - Future Energy
Due to climate change, we are required to switch our energy supply from nuclear power or fossil fuels to renewable energy production in order to minimise the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. To make future energy production climate-neutral, we need to invest in research and development and in a modern power grid.
In Future Energy, you decommission old power plants (nuclear power, oil, natural gas and coal) in various European countries and replace them with modern renewable power plants (fusion, wind, solar and hydrogen).
For every old power plant you decommission, you receive bonuses that help you to drive forward the expansion of power lines.
Planning ahead will earn you more money and CO2 certificates. These help you to acquire further construction contracts for new power plants.
You also have to invest in your own power lines between the modern power plants. In return, however, you will receive transmission fees when others use your power grid.
If you expand your power grid, build power plants in as many European regions as possible and cleverly connect them through your power grid, you will receive more CO2 certificates at the end of the game.
The player with the most victory points is the winner!
