The stand model is a replica of the Semovente M40 75/18 armoured vehicle. The "Semovente" 75/18 M40 developed by Fiat Ansaldo was deployed by Regio Esercito in North Africa from the end of 1941 and was used until the end of the Second World War. Although it was developed on the old M13/40 armoured frame, it was the only Italian armoured vehicle to be produced in large numbers and posed a serious threat to Allied tanks. The 75 mm gun had good firepower and was effective even against the most modern and heavily armoured enemy tanks such as the Sherman. The good and effective gun could not compensate for some weaknesses such as too light armour and an unreliable and weak engine, which came directly from the M13/40 tank. The Italian Semovente was used in particular by the Ariete and Littorio armoured divisions in North Africa, but also by Repubblica Sociale in northern Italy until the end of the war.
