The Sd.Kfz. 250 armoured personnel carrier was used extensively by the German mechanised troops during the Second World War. Developed on the technical basis of the Sd.Kfz.10 artillery tractor, it was intended to provide a flexible and reliable solution for the integration of infantry movements with armoured troops. L'Sd.Kfz. 250 was armed with one or two 7.92 mm MG34 machine guns and could carry a four-man infantry squad well protected onto the battlefield. The appreciation of the vehicle was the basis for the development of numerous variants, including the Leichte Funkpanzerwagen 250/3, which served as a control centre for radio communication between advancing troops, artillery and air force. The "Greif", which was used by Erwin Rommel in North Africa as a genuine forward command post in close contact with the frontline troops, is famous.
