The stand model is a replica of the M923 Hillbilly Gun Truck. This medium-duty truck in the 5-tonne category is representative of the current generation of logistics vehicles in the US armed forces. It was put into service at the beginning of the 1980s. The M-923 has an extremely robust structure and excellent off-road characteristics, which are required to ensure the flow of material to frontline combat units. Many versions were produced based on this chassis: Tow trucks, tankers, mobile maintenance and communication trucks. The A-1 version is characterised by its large off-road tyres, which earned it the nickname "Big-Foot". During its operational use, and especially in the recent military campaigns in which it was deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan, the "Big Foot" was often modified with additional "home-made" protection measures to reduce the damage caused by the fire of light weapons. However, the personalisation of the vehicles carried out by the crews "in the field" was possible thanks to the excellent platform offered by the M-923 trucks.
