The stand model is a replica of the Japanese aircraft carrier Mogami, which was built after the First World War in accordance with the London Naval Treaty. The Mogami was completed in July 1935 and was equipped with a 20.3 cm cannon instead of a 15.5 cm cannon. This heavy gun transformed the Mogami into a heavy cruiser. During the Second World War, the Mogami took part in numerous operations, such as the Malayan landing operation, the Battle of the Sunda Strait and the Battle of Midway. After the US fleet inflicted heavy damage during the Battle of Leyte, the crew abandoned the ship and the Mogami was sunk with torpedoes.
