The Toyota Celica GT-Four RC was developed as a homologation car for participation in global rally races and 5,000 units were sold worldwide in 1992. This car, with its curved, powerful body, had a 2-litre turbocharged engine with metal turbines and a water-based intercooler system that produced 235 hp. The 4WD system utilised a centre viscous coupling and a Torsen rear differential for excellent controllability and traction. In global rally races in 1993, the Celica GT-Four won both the manufacturers' and drivers' championships for Toyota (ST185) for the first time.

The 58724 TAMIYA 1:10 scale model is based on the proven TT-02 chassis. The wheelbase, ground clearance, track and gear ratio can be adjusted in many ways and the chassis can be quickly tuned into a racer with the countless optional tuning parts. The 4WD drive with central shaft, double wishbones and suspension struts on all four wheels ensure a true-to-life driving experience and optimum traction. The underside of the chassis has an extra smooth design and the battery compartment accommodates all standard battery types. A visual highlight are the wheel drivers, which have attached dummy brake discs.
