A-4E/F/G Skyhawk in 1:48 scale.
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk was developed in the 1950s and was one of the best-known and most popular light attack aircraft in aviation history. Thanks to its small and compact size, it was extremely manoeuvrable and ideal for use on aircraft carriers. It was characterised by a simple design with the characteristic low delta wings and small side air intakes, but was extremely functional for operational use. The use of the Pratt & Whitney J52 turbo engine enabled the Skyhawk to reach speeds of 1,170 kilometres per hour. Armed with two 20mm cannons, it could carry a lethal attack load consisting of air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground missiles, rockets and free-falling bombs. Due to its operational characteristics, the A-4 was a considerable commercial success. In addition to the United States, it was also deployed in Australia, New Zealand, Kuwait and Israel.
