In the South it is rather rare to meet a woman on the battlefield, whereas the Free People in the North know that women are able to defend their homeland on the battlefield. However, the spearwives can be used as flank fighters or in the rearguard, defending the battle line against attacking enemies or surprising the enemy with ranged attacks. Their spears, to which they owe their name, may be simple, but they are numerous and deadly both in melee and ranged combat to anyone foolish enough to underestimate them.
