Product Description
Designed at the beginning of the Second World War, the Crusader was one of the most important British "cruiser" tanks and achieved a production of over 5,000 units. Equipped with a Christie suspension with large diameter rolling wheels, the Crusader had remarkable manoeuvrability over rough terrain. The Mk. I and Mk. II versions were armed with a two-pounder cannon. In the Mk. III version, this was replaced by a six-pounder cannon. As the Crusader did not have sufficient armour against enemy fire, it was very vulnerable to enemy mines and anti-tank guns. The armament was also inadequate compared to similar German vehicles. Nevertheless, the British Army was able to achieve good results with the "Cruiser" armoured vehicle when used in a coordinated manner.
