488 PCS ARMED FORCES / 5854/ TORNADO GR.Mk 1 MiG Eater Gulf War 1990-1991
Use 527 high-quality COBI bricks to build the famous British Panavia Tornado multi-role fighter with an extraordinary history! The proper name "MIG EATER" refers to the famous story of the destruction of an Iraqi aircraft at the beginning of the First Gulf War in 1990. The set also includes two unique figures that refer to two British pilots who were captured by the Iraqis during the same conflict. After their release, the pilots were photographed flying the Mig Eater aircraft. Our set once again brings together these two very different and extraordinary war stories!
The set has been carefully designed in 1:48 scale and complements the very extensive collection of Armed Forces fighter aircraft. The set contains high-quality prints. You will look in vain for stickers here! The painting scheme and the characteristic markings of the aircraft refer to the Gulf War (1990-1991). Just like the original, the model has a mechanism that allows the position of the wings to be changed (variable wing geometry). We also have a hinged cabin with space for two full-size figures, movable ailerons and wheels. The landing gear can be easily removed at any time to better display the aircraft on the brick display stand included in the set. The nameplate is included. Thanks to the intuitive instructions, assembly is simple and poses no problems even for less advanced builders. The set will fulfil the expectations of aviation, military and block enthusiasts. The legend of the skies, which is undoubtedly Tornado, will look great in your armed forces collection, no matter how old you are!
Panavia Tornados were variable-wing, multi-role fighter aircraft used by the Royal Air Force (RAF) from the 1980s until 2019, when they were decommissioned. The Panavia Tornado was a twin-engine jet fighter aircraft developed by the Panavia Aircraft GmbH consortium, which included Germany, Italy and the UK. Three main variants of Tornado aircraft were in service with the RAF: GR.1, GR.4 and GR.4A. The GR.1 model was the first version to enter service in the 1980s. Tornados were used as ground support aircraft, fighters and for attacks on air targets. They were capable of carrying a variety of weapons, including guided bombs and missiles. RAF Tornado aircraft have taken part in a variety of conflicts and operations, including the Gulf War, Operation Allied Force over Kosovo, Operation Iraqi Freedom and the fight against ISIS in Iraq and Syria. The last Tornado aircraft were withdrawn from RAF service in 2019. They were replaced by more modern Typhoon and F-35 Lightning II aircraft, which are also included in the COBI range!
