COBI-2993 - 884 PCS HC GREAT WAR /2993/ MARK I
The Great War heralded the era of the steel elephant, which continues to this day. The design of one of the first tanks was born then! MARK I (male) number C.19. You build it with 878 COBI building blocks. The model is 28 cm long. Thanks to the use of a model scale of 1:35, the model matches COBI figures and other vehicles released in this size. The tank is equipped with a working track drive, rotating cannons and opening flaps. Markings and emblems are made of colourful blocks and durable imprints that do not wear off even with intensive use. The set includes a figure of a British tank driver from the First World War period as well as a plaque with the name of the set and the logo of the Tank Museum, which houses the original tank after which we modelled this set.
The British Mark I tank (men's version) was produced in 1916 during the First World War. It was one of the first tanks to be used in military history. The reference to "male" in the name meant that it was a variant of the tank equipped with a combination of cannons in turrets on the sides of the vehicle and machine guns. The "female" versions of this type of tank were equipped with several machine guns. The vehicle was powered by a petrol engine, which allowed it to travel at speeds of up to 4 miles per hour. It was slow and bulky, but its armour provided some protection against enemy infantry small arms. The Mark I (Male) No. C.19 tank was first used in combat in 1916 during the Battle of the Somme in the First World War. Its main objective was to break through enemy fortifications, destroy barbed wire and support the infantry in the conquest of positions. Although it was not a perfect fighting vehicle, its presence on the battlefield played an important role in the development of war strategy.
The Mark I tank is a must-have for history and armour enthusiasts and a beautiful model for a collection dedicated to the First World War. Build history brick by brick!
