Marble SteppedTrack Model Kit, 355 components, 3D wooden puzzle
Introducing the Marble Stepped Track, the second in the Ugears modular marble track range. This exciting and intriguing wooden marble run features a stepped lifting mechanism with three stages and a range of new features that will capture your attention as you watch the marbles' cyclical journey. For this DIY marble run, various tracks and elements have been combined into one compact unit.
The model has a 3-stage lifting mechanism that moves the marbles forwards and backwards as they climb upwards to plunge into their amusement park adventure. Which marble will roll down which track? Which one will be at the bottom first? The marble step track includes a collection holder for 3 marbles; the third marble opens its doors for the other two stuck there, and all three are sent on their different tracks. There are three courses: the first consists of a collection holder for 2 marbles and a serpentine track, the second is a rollover swing in a C-shaped frame and the third has a funnel or vortex. Finally, all the marbles pass through the collecting platform to the rocker lifting device. A rocker switch mechanism sends the marbles either back along the return track towards the 3 stage stepped lifter or (and this is where it starts to get really exciting!) into another Ugears marble run connected to it.
We have designed the Ugears marble run range to be modular, ie, each model works independently, but can also be connected frontally or laterally to another Ugears marble run of the same or a different type (2 or 4 models can be connected, in pairs, using special connectors supplied). The rocker mechanism at the end of the track can send the marbles in one or the other or both directions (depending on the weight attached), so that the marbles either roll back to the original lifting device or to another marble run. With the adjacent marble runs, you now have an amazing and complex system of interconnected elements, all powered by a single crank. You'd think it was a miniature amusement park! Keep an eye on your favourite marble - who knows where it will end up when it rolls back to its starting point, or what attractions it will enjoy along the way!
The Ugears marble run is an exciting combination of art and technology. It is both a wonderful kinetic sculpture and a sophisticated toy that is both entertaining and educational. As you assemble this ingenious wooden marble run, you will learn more about the interaction of driving and driven gears and about the function of counterweights. Turn the crank clockwise to set the machine in motion and be captivated by the 3-stage ladder as it collects the marbles, transports them upwards and moves them back and forth until they finally reach the top of the machine to start their races. Ugears marble runs are strong. The rigidity of the structure is ensured by a strong base and tight-fitting frame parts. A powerful gear drive provides the power for both lifting mechanisms: the 3-stage stepped lifting mechanism and the secondary seesaw lifting mechanism.
Children (and adults!) watch with enthusiasm as the marbles move up and down, pass through various obstacles and roll along a race track. Marble runs are fascinating, capture our attention and still have a relaxing effect. Marble runs, or marble races, have become an unexpected online video phenomenon, with thousands of videos racking up millions of views. You choose the marble you want to cheer on, wonder which way it will go, put yourself in the marble's place and imagine yourself on a wonderful journey into the unknown, with twists, turns and surprises at every turn. All this is even more exciting when you have built the marble run yourself - then you are no longer just passively watching a video, but you are fully involved, because you have created this great device with your own hands.
