Product Description

The Supermarine Spitfire was a single-seat interceptor aircraft used by the Royal Air Force and many Allies, particularly during the Second World War. Originally developed by Supermarine Aviation Works (Vickers), Ltd. under chief designer Reginald J. Mitchell and his successors, the aircraft's excellent manoeuvrability made it very popular with pilots.
Supermarine and its licensees built more than 20,300 Spitfires of all variants. The aircraft was used on all fronts throughout the Second World War and remained in service well into the 1950s.
