Product Description

The Fiat CR 32 was developed in the first half of the 1930s by the famous engineer Rosatelli. Powered by a 12-cylinder V-engine with 600 hp, this machine could reach 375 km/h.
The Fiat CR 32 is one of the most famous biplanes in the history of aviation and was characterised by its extraordinary manoeuvrability. This aircraft was also robust and well armed for the time: it had two 12.7 mm Breda-Safat machine guns that fired through the propeller disc.

The Fiat CR 32 had its baptism of fire with the Legionary Air Force, during the Spanish Civil War, and soon dominated over the Soviet fighter aircraft such as the Polikarpov I-16, with which the Republican Air Force divisions were equipped. Thanks to the exceptional manoeuvrability and training of the Italian pilots, the CR 32 also dominated over more modern and contemporary aircraft. The fast Soviet bomber aircraft Tupolev SB-2, which was considered uninterceptable precisely because of its speed, also suffered numerous losses during the air battles with the "Chirri" of the Legionary Air Force.
