COBI-5743 - 896 PCS 'HC WWII /5743/ DOUGLAS C-47 SKYTRAIN (DAKOTA)
The Douglasâ„¢ C-47 Skytrain, also known as the "Dakota" (DACoTA or Douglas Aircraft Company transport aircraft), is one of the most popular transport aircraft of the Second World War. It was manufactured by the USA and also used by other Allied countries. Based on the design of the civilian version of the Douglas DC-3, the aircraft was present on almost all fronts of the Second World War and was still in use long after its end. Among other things, it was used to land paratroopers and tow gliders as well as to transport supplies, ammunition and evacuate the wounded.
The COBI building block model of the American Douglasâ„¢ C-47 Skytrain (Dakota) cargo aircraft is carefully designed in 1:48 scale and features movable elements such as rotating wheels with rubber tyres, movable propellers and ailerons as well as opening doors. Many of the blocks have durable prints that will not wear out even with intensive use. The set includes two figures of American soldiers: a pilot and a paratrooper from the 101st Airborne Division "Screaming Eagles" with a characteristic mohawk on his head. The set also includes a plaque with the name of the aircraft and a reinforced brick presentation stand with transparent pins.
The model offers many hours of exciting building and will become a standout piece in your historical collection! This is further proof of the possibilities of high quality block modelling! Build history, brick by brick!
