The floor model is a replica of the BR50 locomotive, which was developed in 1937 as a powerful freight locomotive for use on branch lines. With a total of 3164 locomotives built between 1938 and 1945 by almost all German builders, the BR50 was one of the most frequently used steam locomotive classes in Germany. Due to the war, the last series was technically simplified and designated BR50 UK, meaning conversion war locomotive. With 16 tons, the BR50 was universally usable due to its low axle load.
