Revell 1968 Dodge Charger R/T, model kit, 139 parts, 12 years and up
In memory, many things become transfigured. The brutal muscle cars of the 70s often put on more of a show than they could actually hold on the road. When Dodge launched a new edition of the Challenger in 2008 with a chic retro design, only the look had a historical touch. But now the car delivers what one expects from a muscle car. The technology under the body is up to today's standards. Modern axle concepts and the huge Brembo brake system ensure first-class roadholding and excellent controllability. The new 6.1-litre V8 engine purrs like a kitten in normal city traffic despite its remarkable 425 hp output, but above 4000 rpm the cat bites loudly with a snarl. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 6 seconds, the top speed is 247 km/h.
