Product Description

The Cagiva Elefant was introduced in the early 1980s as an enduro motorbike with small to medium displacement engines. Following the takeover of Ducati by Caviga, commercial production was gradually expanded from 1985 to include a more powerful two-cylinder engine. In racing, the Elefant celebrated successes in endurance and desert rallies in the early 1990s. The main feature of the Elefant was the striking, oversized fairing that covered the steel tube and the light alloy lattice frame. The air-cooled two-cylinder engine produced 80 hp at 8500 rpm and enabled the enduro machine to reach a maximum off-road speed of 185 km/h. The design of the Elefant corresponds to a "typical" Sahara configuration with protective panelling, off-road shock absorbers and a low front mudguard.
