The floor model is a recreation of the F4U-1A variant fighter aircraft. The F4U-1A drew on the experience of Navy and US Marine Corps pilots with the original aircraft and made modifications based on their knowledge and suggestions. For example, the performance of this fighter was to be further improved. One of the most important optimisations was the removal of the so-called "birdcage" cockpit, as it impaired visibility. Instead of the old roof, a semi-bubble canopy with a minimal frame was used. The TAMIYA model kit version impresses with its high accuracy of fit as well as the attention to detail.
