The floor model is a replica of the Jagdpanzer IV Lang tank destroyer. The original Jagdpanzer IV tank destroyer was based on the Panzer IV vehicle and used extensive sloping armour with the 7.5 cm 48 calibre gun, which had already proved its worth on other vehicles. In January 1944, it was decided to upgrade the Jagdpanzer IV with the powerful 7.5-cm 70-calibre anti-tank gun instead of the original 48-calibre weapon. This larger weapon was adapted to the Jadgpanzer IV to enable it to destroy Allied tanks without penetrating their weapons range.
