The floor model is a 1:24 scale replica of the Ford Escort RS 1800 Mk.II Lombard. The Ford Escort Mk 2 was launched in 1975. It was a significant development compared to the Escort Mk 1, which was presented at the Brussels Motor Show in January 1968. In addition to the more classic version, the Escort Sport version was also released, featuring a more aggressive look and a distinctive sports interior. To successfully compete in the World Rally Championship, a special model, the RS 1800, was introduced to complete the line-up. From 1975 to 1979, the Ford Escort RS 1800, won the prestigious RAC (Royal Automobile Club) Rally five years in a row. This was arguably the most important rally event organised in the UK at the time and an important milestone in the World Rally Championship. Among other things, the Mikkola Hannu - Hertz Arnee team won the "Lombard" in 1978 and 1979.
