Product Description

A set of a unique clamp building block model, the World War II German Class 52 steam locomotive is part of the new "Trains" collection in the COBI range. The construction of the clamp building blocks perfectly reproduces the entire body, proportions and details of the legendary steam locomotive, probably the most famous of all railway enthusiasts in the world.

The unique camouflage of the vehicle is sure to attract attention. The locomotive appears in a grey colour scheme that matches the livery of German military locomotives on the Eastern Front during the German invasion of the Soviet Union. The set also includes a special figure of a German military locomotive driver. The 1:35 scale locomotive model has detailed details such as: symbols, numbering and lettering, in addition to numerous imprints of measuring instruments in the engine room of the locomotive. Thanks to the easily removable roof of the engine room, you can take a look inside the faithfully reproduced equipment that powers the vehicle. Attention has also been paid to detail such as the imitation of burning coal in the chimney!

Just like a real steam locomotive, the entire gear train is coupled together so that they all move at the same time. Inside the model are gears that form a complex mechanism that ensures realistic movement of the wheels of the entire drive. Simply push the model gently to move the entire system.

No less than five different wheel designs of the locomotive, some of which include rims, with special edges, make the model good on building block tracks and overcomes block curves with a gradient scale from R88. It is worth mentioning that the model is fully compatible, i.e. it fits the tracks of other brands of terminal blocks.

The tender, i.e. a wagon for transporting coal among other things, is also faithful to the real prototype. Inside it has a pictured fuel composition. It also has torsion wheel carriages and a special coupling to which other carriages can be attached to form a whole train.

The set also contains five sections of straight track with a total length of approx. 65 cm. The track is made using a modern two-colour spraying technique, which means that each individual section, about 13 cm long, is an element - a monolith - made of two different colours of plastic that are joined together. The rails in the colour grey steel stand out clearly against the very realistic brown railway sleepers. There are no visible tenons (studs) on each sleeper, which enhances their realism, and each of them is covered with a board structure, i.e. an imitation of wooden beams. The tracks can be attached to construction boards and have a technical hole thanks to which you can permanently attach the track to the railway diorama with a screw or a nail, for example.

This set is the perfect gift for any history and railway lover.

Build history, brick by brick!

The BR 52 is a German-built freight steam locomotive that was manufactured in many European factories between 1942 and 1945. It was a very cheap, simple but very reliable steam locomotive. The locomotive could pull goods trains with a total weight of up to 620 tonnes at a speed of 80 km/h or 1,700 tonnes at a speed of 50 km/h. The locomotive was also used many times to pull passenger trains.
