Product Description

A set with a clamp building block model of the German DR BR 52 steam locomotive from the Second World War opens up a completely new collection of "Trains" in the COBI range. The construction of the building blocks faithfully reproduces the structure, proportions and details of the legendary steam locomotive, probably the most popular and well-known to all railway enthusiasts in the world.

In addition to detailed details such as: symbols, numbering and lettering, the 1:35 scale locomotive model also has numerous imprints of measuring instruments in the engine room of the locomotive. Thanks to the easily removable roof of the engine room, you can take a look inside the faithfully reproduced equipment that powers the vehicle. Attention has also been paid to detail such as the imitation of burning coal in the chimney!

Just like a real steam locomotive, the entire gear train is coupled together so that it moves at the same time. Inside the model are gears that form a complex mechanism that ensures realistic movement of the wheels and the entire drive. Simply push the model carefully to move the entire system.

The set also includes a figure of a German railwayman in a World War II uniform.

No less than five different wheel designs of the locomotive, some of which include rims, with special edges, make the model good on clamp brick tracks and overcomes block curves with a gradient scale from R88. It is worth mentioning that the model is fully compatible, i.e. it fits the tracks of other Klemmbausten brands.

The tender, i.e. a wagon for transporting coal among other things, is also faithful to the real prototype. Inside it has a pictured fuel composition. It also has torsion wheel carriages and a special coupling to which other carriages can be attached, creating a whole train.

The COBI company has also made its own form of a brick that imitates a fragment of the track. The set contains five such track sections with a total length of approx. 65 cm. The track is made using a modern two-colour spraying technique, which means that each individual section, about 13 cm long, is an element - a monolith - made of two different colours of plastic that are joined together. The rails in the colour grey steel stand out clearly against the very realistic brown railway sleepers. There are no visible tenons (studs) on each sleeper, which enhances their realism, and each of them is covered with a beam structure, i.e. an imitation of wood grain. The tracks can be attached to construction panels and have a technical hole thanks to which you can permanently attach the track to the railway diorama with a screw or a nail, for example.

This set is the perfect gift for any history and railway lover.

Build history, brick by brick!

The BR 52 is a German-built freight steam locomotive that was manufactured in many European factories between 1942 and 1945. It was a very cheap, simple, but very reliable steam locomotive. In Poland, after the Second World War, more than 1,200 of these vehicles were used in the works of the Polish State Railways. The locomotive could pull goods trains with a total weight of up to 620 tons at a speed of 80 km/h or 1,700 tons at a speed of 50 km/h. The locomotive was also used many times as a steam locomotive. The locomotive was also used many times to pull passenger trains.
