The floor model is a replica of the Douglas A-1J Skyrider, which was in service for almost 30 years. The development of the fighter began in June 1944. The Skyrider fought its first battle with the outbreak of the Korean War, as it could no longer be completed for the Second World War. After several improvements to this aircraft, the A-1J Skyrider was finally created. As US air operations in Vietnam became more aggressive in 1965, literally hundreds of Skyriders, including the A-1J, were deployed for the 14th and 56th Special Operations Wings (SOW).
