510007082 - Model Kit,1:72 15cm FieldHowitzer/ 10,5cm FieldGun
The floor model is a replica of a field howitzer.
The 150 mm SFH18 howitzer was used by the Wehrmacht on all major fronts during World War 2. It was developed in the 1920s and 1930s by Rheinmetall and Krupp, one of the most important artillery companies in Germany, to optimise resources and technological capabilities within the parameters set by the Treaty of Versailles. From 1933 onwards, German rearmament planning became increasingly ambitious, with a particular increase in the production of howitzers and field guns.
The SFH18 had a simple and reliable structure with a maximum range of 13.5 km. It could be divided into two sections and towed by horses or, more often during the war, on half-tracks. The SFH18 had a crew of seven. On the same carriage (sK 10.5 cm) a version with a calibre of 105 mm was developed, which was distinguished by the longer barrel, but was produced in few copies, which were much heavier than the standard LeFH18 of 105 mm, which was delivered to the Wehrmacht as a field artillery gun.
