The floor model is a replica of the Ford Escort Mk. II. The Ford Escort Mk 2 was launched in 1975. It was a significant development compared to the Escort Mk 1, which was introduced at the Brussels Motor Show in January 1968. It used the reliable mechanical components as the Mk 1, but adopted a new design based on a square -style look in keeping with the aesthetic and stylistic tastes of the 1970s.

The range was wide and was rejected in three body styles (2 door, 4 door and 3 door estate), five engine types and a variety of settings and configurations. The Escort Mk 2 was produced mainly at Ford Group's German plant and achieved good commercial success. In addition to the more classic version, the Escort Sport version was also released, featuring a more aggressive look and a distinctive sports interior. To successfully compete in the World Rally Championship, a special model, the RS 1800, was introduced to complete the line-up.
